Are you a Native student in middle school or high school and interested in learning about photography? This project may be for you!
Click here to take this short questionnaire to help us determine if you qualify to participate (students do not need to attend Salt River Schools to participate).
About the project: Salt River Schools is partnering with Child Trends and the Center for Native American Youth to conduct a study to understand student feelings about school climate. School climate includes students' physical and emotional safety, relationships with their peers and adults, and the disciplinary environment of schools.
With this Photovoice Project, we want students to share their perspectives on the topic of school climate through pictures and images. The goal of this study is to identify ways to make schools more positive, safe spaces for students of diverse backgrounds.
We will not keep your photographs; however, we will audio record the focus group discussions about the pictures you take. We will not share your information with anyone outside the research team.
The Photovoice Project sessions will be held Friday, July 15, and Monday, July 18, from 5-8 p.m. at the Accelerated Learning Academy (4827 N. Country Club Dr.).
