The bus delays we've been experiencing this week have ended. Tomorrow, Friday, August 28, all of our bus routes will return to their normal schedule, so make sure your students are ready to go at the appropriate pickup time. This is for both morning and afternoon routes at the Early Childhood Education Center, Salt River Elementary School, and the Accelerated Learning Academy. Thank you for your patience and understanding as we navigated these challenges this week. If you have questions about the bus schedule, call your child's school or 480-362-2121.

We also want to let families know that emergency medical services were called to the ALA campus around 11:30 a.m. after a student needed medical intervention. Due to federal privacy laws, we are unable to disclose more information. To ensure the safety of all involved, our Safe Schools & Security team placed the ALA campus under a "Hold" directive, which is based on our new Standard Response Protocol. When "Hold" is called, staff and students are trained to stay in their room or area until the hold is lifted; the protocol used when hallways need to be kept clear of occupants. The ALA "Hold" was lifted around noon. Click here to learn more about the SRS-SRP. Additionally, if your student needs extra support or resources to process today's emergency, please reach out to Todd Ziehm at 480-362-2130.

This message is to let Salt River Elementary School families know there was a medical emergency on BUS ROUTE 3 today (8/26/26) around 12:30 p.m. in area of Country Club Drive and Thomas Road. Emergency services were called and after a short evaluation the student was allowed to leave with a parent. Bus Route 3 was already on a delayed schedule due to staffing issues; families with students on bus route 3 will experience another 15-20 minutes of delays. We appreciate your patience and understanding. If you have questions, call SRES at 480-362-2400.

Students at SRES also practiced a fire drill this morning. Click here for more information about our emergency drills.

This message is to let you know that we have a delayed bus schedule for Salt River Elementary School students who ride Route 2 (both morning and afternoon), and morning riders at the Early Childhood Education Center on Routes 1 & 2. These specific routes are running about 15-20 minutes behind schedule due to a staffing issue (all other routes are running on time!).

We expect this delay to last the rest of this week. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. Students on these delayed routes who arrive late to school will be excused and not marked tardy. If you have any questions, please call the SRS Transportation Department at 480-362-2121.
