Communicating ImageDear Salt River Schools’ Staff and Parents/Guardians,

Effective March 20, 2017, Mr. Rob Barnes will be acting principal of Salt River High School. As with all changes that occur at Salt River Schools, this decision reflects our commitment to our students. During this transition, our caring and dedicated staff will ensure minimal impact is felt in the day-to-day learning environment, including instruction and support. If you have a student at SRHS, please continue to contact their teacher(s) or counselor with any concerns.

We will soon begin our search for a new principal and will seek Community involvement during this process. With this change, I am reminded of how blessed we are in that the Community continues to support Salt River Schools in many ways. The Division is also fortunate to have a collaborative partnership with our Education Board, which fully supports our student-focused endeavors and invites you to attend their public meetings, the dates and times of which can be found at www.saltriverschools.org.

The future holds many exciting changes. To keep you informed, we are actively improving our outreach and customer service deliveries. This letter is an example of those efforts, as are the new Community Forums I’ve been hosting, the next of which is Thursday, March 30, at the Lehi Community Building. At these forums, I invite you to eat dinner with me and discuss education topics of importance to you.

We truly appreciate having the opportunity to serve the Community and especially our students, and we look forward to continued collaborations and successful futures. If you have any questions, please contact our School Communications & PR Director, Taté Walker, at (480) 362-2570 or [email protected].

Sincerely,

Dr. Louis Laffitte, Jr.
Superintendent
